    Patrick will retire from the CFB Halifax Fire Department on the 3 Feb 2021 after 14 years of employment at the CFB Halifax Fire Department and a total of 36 years of loyal and dedicated service to Canada and the Fire Service.

    Patrick enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces in Halifax, Nova Scotia on 7 Jul 1986. He graduated from the RCR Battle Infantry Training School in Nov 1986 and was posted to CFB London as a member of Charles Company. During his tour in London he was tasked with peacekeeping duties in Nicosia Cyprus and later deployed to the Persian Gulf via 3 Mech  Germany as part of Desert Storm. Upon returning to London, Patrick was posted to the RCR
    Battle School at CFB Petawawa as an instructor for Leadership Company. He instructed all levels of training including QL 3, PLQ and QL 6A. In Feb 1992 Patrick received his long awaited trade transfer to Firefighter and attended QL 3 Apprentice training at the Canadian Forces Fire Academy in Mar 1992. On completion of Apprentice training he was posted to CFB Greenwood where he spent 5 glorious years in his new occupation. In the summer of 1999 he
    was posted to CFB Halifax, as a member of the HMCS ST. JOHN’S where he spent 4 years. While employed as a shipboard Firefighter he toured many countries and participated in Operation Apollo (War-on-Terrorism) from May 2002 to Oct 2002 in Dubai. In July 2003 Patrick was posted to CFB Shearwater, as a Deputy Platoon Chief. Patrick was promoted to Sgt in May 2004 and was employed as a Platoon Chief and Chief Fire Inspector. 

    Following a commendable military career, Patrick successfully applied for a Firefighting position at CFB Halifax Dockyard Fire Department and became a member of 3 Platoon on 8 Jan 2007. After many years of enjoying a new career as a Public Service DND Firefighter, Patrick was promoted to the position of Platoon Chief in Apr 2019 to present.

    Patrick and his lovely wife Kathy plan to remain in their home in Halifax, where Patrick will be continue to work out, taking up golf and travel with Kathy.
