    Adj Bernard Emberley, CD prendra sa retraite des Forces armées canadiennes le 15 août 2016 après plus de 26 années de service qu'il a consacré comme membre des FAC et de la Branche du GMC (voir bio ci-joint).

    WO Emberley was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland. He joined the military on June 25 1990 in St. John’s (Newfoundland) as a Pres Combat Engineer. As a member of 56 Field Engineer Squadron, he completed Basic, QL3, QL5 and CLC. WO Emberley component transferred to the Reg F January 1996 and was posted to 2 Combat Engineer Regiment (2CER) Petawawa, Ont. In 1998 he remustered to 042 FEE OP and completed his Heavy equipment Op crse, then Grader Op (2001) and Crane Op (2002). As a member of 2CER WO Emberley completed 4 tours - OP Kinetic - Kosovo, OP Palladium - Bosnia and OP Athena - Afghanistan twice. He a achieved the rank Of Sergeant before being posted to The Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering in 2007 where he was employed as a heavy equipment instructor. WO Emberley was posted to 1 Engineer Support Unit, Moncton NB in 2010 and deployed again for a third time to OP Athena. This time as a member of 1 Specialized Engineer Team, at the Provincial Reconstruction Team – Camp Nathen Smith, he worked on various projects but primarily the reconstruction of the Daman District Centre after it was targeted by a VBIED. He also deployed on projects with 1 ESU to Alert, Yellowknife, Haiti, and Israel. WO Emberley was promoted to the rank of Warrant Officer in June 2013 and was then post back to CFSME as the Roads Cell WO in charge of Heavy equipment Plans and OPS delivery and heavy equipment training to core courses. He moved into the position of Admin Sqn Ops WO, then on to his current position of DP3A/OSS STDS Rep. WO Emberley will finish his retirement leave 15 August 2016 and after a short vacation at home in NL with his daughter Alyssa (17), son Jack (9), friends, and family, will attend school in NS in Sept to pursue a career as a crane operator on board ship.

    At Jamie’s request, friends and colleagues are welcome to attend his depart with dignity presentation function which will take place at CFSME Gagetown; Bldg. J-10, Staff Lounge on the 28th of July 2016 at 1300hrs. Dress will be dress of the day or civilian casual.
