Our current Last Post records start with the formation of the CMEA in 2000. We appreciate being advised of any member of the CME family whose death is not listed in our posts, including those prior to 2000. Use the form below to provide any information of to comment on any existing entry.
Service Records
Our Last Post entries aim to honour the military service of the deceased. These aspects of a person's life are often unknown to many families, especially in the cases of older veterans. Many of these men and women returned from the war and simply got on with their lives, leaving their war experiences behind.
The CMEA has resources to assist in finding the details of a person's service records, but privacy laws prevent us from searching most personal records. When submitting a Last Post entry, please try to include anything you know about the individual's service experience - unit they served in, placed where they trained, times they served, areas or countries they served in, medals they might have been awarded, and any dates. We can often match this information to unit records and help build an appropriate record of the person's service.
Photos
We will post photos of the deceased if we have them. If there is no photo available, we post the last hat badge the member wore. If family members have photos or want to change a photo we have posted, please use the form below.
Photo Quality. We prefer recent photos of the deceased in uniform; head & shoulder shots are best. If none are available, other recent photos can be used. Photos should provide adequate resolution to display properly on the web page. In general, we need a minimum resolution of 120 dpi, but we can work with less if necessary. Please email attachments at their original size.
