    I would like to inform you that effective 31 May 2017 Sgt Paul Veinot (Primary Reserve) will be retiring after 42 years’ service in the CAF.  A farewell gathering will be held at Gowingnutz Restaurant on 26 May 2017 1200 hrs.     WO Paul Veinot will be retiring from the CF on 31 May 2017 after 42 years of loyal and dedicated service to his country.

    Paul joined the CF in Sep of 1974, on completion of recruit training at CFB Cornwallis and basic infantry training in Petawawa he remained at Petawawa with 3 RCR. Then it was a 7 month tour with the RCMP for the 1976 Olympics. Other posting include CFB Baden Germany 1977-1980 & 1985 -1989. CFB Comox 1999-2001, CFB Greenwood 1980-1983, 1989-1993, 2001-present. Postings to sea include HMCS Iroquois 1983-1985, HMCS Preserver 1996-1999 and a tour on HMCS Halifax. Other tours include Cyprus 1976, Asmara, and Eritrea Africa 2000.

    WO Veinot retired from the regular force as a Platoon Chief here at 14 Wing Greenwood in 2006, then only a day later accepted a reserve Sgt position. Being from the area Paul intends to extend the roots even further down with is Partner Callie, Paul’s two daughters and two grandchildren who live locally and visiting his youngest daughter in sunny California.

    Paul’s future includes cruising with Callie on his motor cycle and in his fully restored 1957 Mercury Turnpike Cruiser. After 42 years Paul his looking forward to the freedom to do whatever Callie and him want to do.
