The Fall 2024 Issue of The Blue Beret - The Newsletter of the Canadian Peacekeeping Veterans Association includes an article about a recent VAC-sponsored pilgrimage back to Cyprus. With permission from the CAPA, the story has been extracted from the fall issue and is reprinted below. The whole issue is available for download at the bottom of the page.

This visit was parallel to the November trip organized by the Canadian Airborne Forces Association and supported by the CMEA in November. For background, you can refer to three earlier articles on this site; Cyprus '74 - The Sapper Story, Cyprus Pilgrimage November 2024, and Engineers Attend Cyprus Pilgrimage.  A documentary crew followed our tour, recording dozens and dozens of interviews with the five Sapper veterans on the trip and we will be informed as soon as the program has been completed.  The CMEA also made a financial contribution to the documentary. We also must give credit to VAC who supported the CAFA committee throughout and provided a modest subsidy to help veterans defray travel and accommodation costs of travel and accommodation.  A final report of that trip is available at Report on the Cyprus 2024 Reunion.
