    We regret to advise of the death of Corporal James Albert Procure (Ret’d) at Cascade Hospice in Chilliack, BC on 25 July 2019 at the age of 89. 

    Jim was born in Goodwater, SK and the family moved shortly thereafter north to Orley, SK. Jim joined the Canadian Army in 1952 and became a Sapper radio operator. His first posting was to Germany in 1953 with 57th Independent Field Squadron (later 2 Field Squadron).  After returning to Canada from Germany in 1956 Jim took his release to go farming in the Chilliwack area.  He rejoined the army in 1964 with the Militia serving in 22nd Field Squadron RCE and became a bartender in the Officers’ Mess at Vedder Crossing.  Shortly thereafter he took his release again and became a civilian driver for Base Transport - a position he held for 25 years. In his retirement, Jim enjoyed Square Dancing, RV’ing and Saturday Garage Sales.
