Lt Walter Ernest Clarke (Ret’d)

We regret to advise of the death of Lieutenant Walter Ernest Clarke (Ret’d) on 29 November 2009 in Victoria, BC.
Walter was born in Hamilton, ON in 1916 and graduated from Queen’s University, Hamilton in 1939 with a Bachelor of Science Engineering degree. He served with the Royal Canadian Engineers in WW II from 1942-1945. After the war he had a fulfilling career in the mining industry with Buffalo Ankerite ON; United Keno Hill Mines YT; Geco Mines ON; Rayrock Mines NWT; and as a consultant. He was a member of Professional Engineers of Ontario; the Association of Professional Engineers of British Columbia; and the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. He was a long time member of the Oak Bay United Church, Oak Bay, BC, serving it in a variety of roles.
A memorial service will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel, 1803 Quadra Street, Victoria on 12 December. The family requests no flowers.{gdJan2016kh}
