MWO Stephen Viscount joined the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves straight out of high school in 1995 in St Johns NL. After completing his QL3 and QL5 courses in Chilliwack BC and deploying to Ontario during the Ice Storm, he took a component transfer to the regular force and his first posting to 4ESR’s 22 Fd Tp in Feb of 1998.
During his time at 4 ESR he held positions as Fd Tp Sect Mbr, 2 I/C, Sect Comd, Ress Tp water supply operator, and CO’s driver.
MWO Viscount was promoted to the Rank of MCpl in 2005 and took a posting to CFSME. During his time at the school he instructed in the CMD cell and the Demolition cell, and completed his Sect Comd Course, RECCE Ops Course, Search Advisor course in Missouri, Master Breachers Course in Camp Lejeune NC and the NATO Biological Chemical EOD/IEDD Disposal course in Rome.
Promoted to Sgt in 2009 Sgt Viscount was posted to 2 CER 23 Fd Sqn. During his 6 years at 2 CER he held the following positions: Recce Sgt in 2 Tp 23 Fd Sqn, Recce Sgt 4 Tp 24 Fd Sqn, 4 Tp WO, 24 fd Sqn SQMS, Regt’l Trg WO, Regt’l Ops WO and acted as the RHQ SSM. He attended his Troop WO course and ILP.
In 2015 he was posted to Base CE in Gagetown as the Preventative Maintenance Office where he managed the 6 civilians and coordinated the inspection of the infrastructure on the base.
Promoted to MWO in 2016. He was posted to CTC HQ to fill the role of QSTP manager looking after the NCM course documentation, Prior Learning Assessment’s and chair the QSTP Boards.
During his career he deployed to Bosnia in 1998 as a Sect Mbr, Africa in 2001 as a water supply operator and Afghanistan in 2003 as a Fd Tp Mbr.
Stephen’s is currently attending vocational rehabilitations and his last day in the CAF will be 08 July 2018. Stephen will remain in NB with his wife Sarah and his two daughters Alea and Gracie. He is will be attending a two-year program in the fall of 2018 for Graphic Design at NBCCD to peruse his second career.
