We regret to advise of the death of Firefighter Reginald P. McGrath (Ret’d), of Miramichi NB, peacefully at home on Monday, 23 January 2023, one month short of his 98^th birthday.

Born in Newcastle NB, Reg enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1943. He was assigned to the air base in Leeming Yorkshire, England with the 427 Lion Squadron and also served in Bomber Command, where he remained until the end of the Second World War. After the war, Reg worked as a firefighter at the Canadian Forces Ammunition Depot in Renous NB, and various other jobs.

Reg was a member of St Mary's Roman Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Newcastle Legion Branch No.10, The Wing in Chatham, and the Knights of Columbus.

Visitation will take place at Northumberland Funeral Home on Friday,  27 January 2023, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, 28 January 2023, at 11:00 am, from St Mary's Roman Catholic Church. Interment will take place in the church cemetery at a later date.
