We regret to advise of the death of Firefighter FR Willis Byron "Bud” Clarke on 17 November 2019 in Chilliwack, BC at age 84. Bud served 30 years as a civilian firefighter between Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt BC (1967-1971) and CFB Chilliwack (from 1971 until retirement as a fire officer upon the base closure in 1998).

Bud was born in Elkhorn, MB in 1935 and returned to his on a regular basis all of his life to visit relatives. Highlights of his life include those trips and other events like playing his trumpet in marching bands in Victoria and competing annually with B.C. Firefighters Curling Association and the Chilliwack Curling Club. He enjoyed golfing, fishing trips to Texada Island, cruises and travelling in the RV all over Canada and the US as well as regular return visits to Victoria to visit lifelong friends.
