    We regret to advise of the death of Emile E. Dufour on 1 November 2009 at the Veteran's Village, Sherbrooke Community Center in Saskatoon, SK at the age of 88 years.

    Emile was born in Ottawa, ON.  He was a Second World War veteran who joined the Army at the age of 19 and served overseas as a member of the Royal Canadian Engineers. After the war, he re-joined the Army and served in Valcartier QC, Wainwright AB. and Ottawa. After he retired from the Army in Ottawa in 1969 he worked as an insurance salesman for Knights of Columbus Insurance before making a final move to Saskatoon where he worked with the Red Program, finding employment for less fortunate individuals.  Emile fully retired in 1981.  

    Emile was always involved with the Catholic Church and especially with the Knights of Columbus where he was a 4th Degree Knight.. He was instrumental in helping to start counsels in numerous parishes across the country. Emile was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Netanya Branch #362 in Saskatoon.

    There will be prayers with family and friends on 5 November at 7:00 PM at St. Augustine Parish, 602 Boychuk Dr in Saskatoon.  A Celebration Mass of Emile's life will be conducted on 6 November at 10:30 AM at St. Augustine.  Cremation to follow with interment in the family plot in Notre Dame Cemetery in Ottawa.
