Spr Elmer L. Antler (Ret’d)

    We regret to advise of the death of Sapper Elmer L. Antler (Ret’d) on 26 July 2002 at the Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga, ON in his 80th year.

    Elmer was a veteran of the Second World War serving in the Royal Canadian Engineers.  After the war, he went to work for the Canadian Pacific Railway as a locomotive engineer where he enjoyed a 40-year career. Elmer was very active in a number of community and service organisations, often in a leadership role.  He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #23 in North Bay ON, a past President of the Rorab Shine Club in North Bay; member of Espanola Lodge of the Masons 527 GRC; past president Mac Tier Lions Club in MacTier, ON,  and registrar for the Harrington Preceptory in North Bay.

    Elmer will be resting at the G.H. Hogle Funeral Home, 63 Mimico Avenue, Toronto on 29 July from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and on 30 July from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.  Visitation will then take place in North Bay at the Martyn Funeral Home, 465 Wyld Street on 31 July from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM including a Masonic Memorial Service and on 1 August at 10:00 AM until time of service in the chapel at 1:00 PM.  Interment will be in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, North Bay. Donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital, the Hospital for Sick Children or the Canadian Cancer Society. {dcJan2017gd}[zpp, zsd, zcc
