We regret to advise of the death of Ellard Davies Allen on 23 May 2012 after a lengthy illness.

Ellard joined the Army Survey Estblishment in 1954. A leader of many production teams, he was one of the several civilian technicians that built the great reputation of the Army Survey Establishment and Mapping and Charting Establishment in leading Canada in the field of air photo mapping. In the writing of the history of the Army Survey Establishment and Mapping and Charting Establishment Ellard provided much essential detail in telling the story.

Visitation at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry McLeod St Ottawa. A Memorial Service to celebrate Ellard's life will be held on 29 May 2012 at the Glebe-St. James United Church 650 Lyon St. at First Ave, Ottawa. Memorial donations to the Hospice at May Court or Carefor would be appreciated by the family.
