    We regret to advise of the death of Donald Ronald McKay of St Peter’s NS on 17 February 2009 in Richmond Villa St Peter”s at the age of 97 years.

    Donald was born in Kingsville NS and grew up in Inverness County. He started his working life in the mines of Quebec and Northern Ontario and when the war broke out, he joined the 1st Field Company, Royal Canadian Engineers.  After the war, he settled in Brantford ON where he worked for 3M Corporation. He later moved to Moncton NB and worked for the Canadian National Railway.  After he retired, he moved back to St. Peter's. 

    Donald was a fluent Gaelic speaker and had vast knowledge of Scottish history, Scottish lore and most especially, family ancestry. He became a member of St. Peter's Parish and St. Anthony's Guild. He was a life membership in the CN Pensioner's Club. He belonged to the Clan MacKay Society and the Order of Good Cheer.

    Visitation will be in St. Mary of the Angels Church in Glendale NS from 2:00 PM until the funeral at 3:00 PM 20 February.  Interment will be in St. Mary's of the Angels Cemetery in Glendale NS. Donations made to St. Mary of the Angels Parish Cemetery Fund will be appreciated.
