CWO/Adjuc J.S.J Lachapelle, CD

    Chief Warrant Officer Josh Lachapelle was born in Longueil, Quebec and joined the Canadian Forces as a Navel Electronic Sensor Operator, on the 11 January 1984 in Montreal, Quebec. After completing his QL3 training, he was assigned on the HMCS Iroquois. In 1987, he left the CF in order to go work as a cabinetmaker. In January 1988, he joined the CF for a second time, but this time as a Water Fuel and Environment Technician. After completion of his QL3, he was initially transferred to CFB Comox, British Columbia.

    In 1991, he was transferred to CFB Valcartier, at the 5e Régiment du génie de combat (5 RGC). In 1992, he deployed to Cambodia. In 1993, he was promoted to MCpl and was transferred to Base CE were he worked at the wastewater treatment plant. In 1996, when the construction troops were formed, he was once again transferred back to 5 RGC. That year was also marked with a deployment in Bosnia and Hercegovina.

    Promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1997, he was transferred to 2 Combat Engineer Regiment Petawawa Construction Troop. During that time he deployed twice with the DART; in 1998 in Honduras and in 1999 in Turkey. In 2000, he was promoted to Warrant Officer and was transferred to Base CE were he worked in the Contract section.

    In March 2001, he was transferred to 1 Engineer Support Unit (1 ESU) Moncton. In December 2001, he deployed in the Persian Golf for the construction of Camp Mirage. In 2003, he was promoted to the rank of Master Warrant Officer and was employed as the 3 Specialized Engineering Team MWO (3 SET MWO). During that time the SET performed numerous projects in Cuba, Alert and many more locations. In 2005, he was transferred to ADM (MAT) in the position of LCMM for Water Distribution, Wastewater, Laundry and Fuel Equipment for the Relocatable Temporary Camp equipment.

    Chief Warrant Officer Lachapelle was promoted to his present rank in July 2006. As a Chief Warrant Officer he has been employed with ADM (IE), RSM of 1 Engineer Support Unit, and Career Manager for the Construction Engineer occupation and CANOSCOM as Operational Support Engineer Group Chief Warrant Officer.

    CWO Lachapelle, has accepted a civilian position within OS Engr Gp as the Eng Equipment Manager.
