    CWO Rondeau joined the Canadian Armed Forces in September 1990. Following basic training, he was posted to the Canadian Forces Language School in St-Jean-surRichelieu. He was then posted to the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineer (CFSME) in Chilliwack, BC, where he completed Combat Engineer training.

    His first posting as a qualified Combat Engineer was to 5 Combat Engineer Regiment (5 CER) in Valcartier, QC, in January 1992. In the fall of that year, he deployed to Bosnia for the first time. Shortly after his return, he deployed to Bosnia again in the fall of 1993. In 1996, he deployed to Haiti. He deployed on his first domestic operation in 1998 during the ice storm recovery effort.

    In 2000, CWO Rondeau was posted to CFSME again but this time in Gagetown, NB. Over the course of his posting, he was promoted to Sergeant and mainly employed in the Bridging section. By 2004, he was back at 5 CER Valcartier and employed as Recce Sergeant. In 2006, he was promoted to the rank of Warrant Officer. In 2007, he deployed to Afghanistan as a Troop Warrant in the 3rd Battalion, Royal 22e Regiment (3 R22R) Battle Group. His troop was part of the A-Combat team stationed in the Zhari district.

    In the summer of 2008, he was posted to the Royal Military College (RMC) in Kingston, ON, and employed as the Operations WO. From RMC, he deployed on his second domestic operation to support the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver, BC. In the summer of 2011, he was promoted to Master Warrant Officer and posted to 2 Combat Engineer Regiment (2 CER) in Petawawa, ON, as a Squadron Sergeant Major. He took part in many major exercises including ones in Wainwright, AB, and Fort Irwin, California.

    In 2014, he was posted to Ottawa with the Canadian Joint Operations Command Headquarter (CJOC HQ) Joint Engineer section, supporting domestics and internationals operations. Promoted to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer in June 2016, he was posted to Valcartier to act as the Canadian Army Chief Standards Officer Representative (CACSOR). In January 2018, he became the 25th Regimental Sergeant Major of 5 CER. He deployed on his third domestic operation as the Land Component Command (LCC) Sergeant Major for the floods in the province of Québec in the spring of 2019.

    In 2020, he was appointed as the second Formation Chief Warrant Officer of the Canadian Armed Forces Transition Group (CAF TG CWO).

    CWO Rondeau has accepted a job in the private sector and will remain in the Québec City area for the near future to reunite with his spouse and their three children.
