After more than 31+years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Canadian Military Engineer Branch, CWO Daniel Aubertin, CD (bio attached), will retire 23 Mar 2016. A Depart with Dignity ceremony will take place at the WO & Sgt Mess in 4 Wing Cold Lake on 03 Dec 2015 from 11:30 to 14:00hrs. by phone at 780-840-8000 local 8104. CWO Aubertin’s military career started in 1984 with the Royal 22ième Regiment at Quebec QC, where he joined the ranks as an infantryman. In 1988 he re-mustered and became an Electrical Generating Technician joining the Canadian Military Engineer family. After completing his Recruit Training at St-Jean QC in 1985, he served 3 years with the Royal 22nd Regiment in Quebec QC, followed in 1988 by his QL3 Electrical Generating Technician in Chilliwack, BC, he received a posting in 1988 to CFB Esquimalt BC, in 1989 he moved to 19 Wing Comox BC, followed by 8 Wing Trenton ON, in 1995, then in 2000 promoted to Sgt going to 22 Wing North Bay ON, 2001 Moncton NB, with 1 CEU, he was posted in 2003 to 4 Wing Cold Lake AB, promoted to WO in 2005, followed in 2007 by a posting to Saint-Jean sur Richelieu QC, as an MWO, then in 2008 back to Cold Lake AB. His list of tours includes 4 tours at CFS Alert NT, a tour in Somalia, a tour in Croatia/Bosnia, a tour in the Golan Heights, OP Apollo-Afghanistan, OP Cavalier-Afghanistan. He was promoted to the rank of CWO in 2014 and remained at 4 Wing Cold Lake as the Wing Admin Branch CWO. After 31+ years of service Daniel and his wife Blandine for the foreseeable future will reside in Alberta where 3 of their 4 children are still residing. Daniel is seeking employment with the Public Service.
