    We regret to advise of the unexpected death of Chief Warrant Officer William “Bill” Montague, CD (Ret’d) on 26 October 2018 at the Montfort Hospital in Ottawa, ON at age 74.

    Bill started his career with the Royal Canadian Engineers in 1961 when he joined the 10th Intake of the Sapper Apprentices at the Royal Canadian School of Military Engineering in Chilliwack, BC.  During his 35-year career with the Canadian Military Engineers he rose to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer as a Construction Maintenance Technician. His appointments included his being the Career Manager for his trade.

    After his retirement from the Canadian Armed Forces, Bill enjoyed his summers at Otter Lake Ontario. He was always willing to give a helping hand to all and he could fix and repair anything. Bill was active in Old Timers Hockey and was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Orleans Branch No. 632. 

    Family and friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home-Orleans, 2370 St. Joseph Blvd, Orleans, ON on Thursday, 1 November 2018 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday, 2 November after 10 a.m.  followed by a Funeral Service in the Chapel at 11 a.m. Donations in Bill’s memory can be made to the Hopes Rising Campaign for mental health at the Queensway Carleton Hospital .  Online condolences can be sent to the Funeral Home
