We regret to advise of the death of Chief Warrant Officer James “Jim” V. Hill, CD (Ret’d), peacefully in Kingston ON at Arbour Heights Long-Term Care on 4 January 2023 in his 86th year.
Jim enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1957 and became an Electrical Generating Systems Technician. During his career, he served on many radar sites, including: St Margaret's, Beausejour, Chibougamou, Foymount, Sioux Lookout, Holberg, Lac St Denis, and Mont Apica. He also served at Canadian Forces Bases Lahr, Kingston and Winnipeg. During his career, Jim served in Ismailia Egypt on the United Nations Emergency Force (UNEF II) and at Canadian Forces Station Alert NU. Jim retired as a Mechanical Systems Technician Chief Warrant Officer in Winnipeg in 1989.
In keeping with Jim’s wishes, there will be no visitation nor service. The family will honour his memory privately. Donations in Jim’s memory to Soldier On or the Last Post Fund would be welcomed by his family. Online condolences can be sent to the funeral home.
