Cpl Victor Hugo enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Combat Engineer in August 2017 in Toronto, Ontario. He completed the recruit course in November 2017 and the ground soldier qualification in July 2018. He was qualified as a Combat Engineer in May 2019 and was transferred to the 5 Combat Engineer Regiment in Valcartier, Québec, where he has been a driver and operator on different types of vehicles. Cpl Hugo decided to leave the Canadian Armed Forces in October 2023 to return to studies in environmental science.
