After over 19 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Forces and to his country, Cpl Thomas Young, CD, will retire from the military on 18 May 2009.

Cpl Young enrolled in the Canadian Forces on 13 March 1990 as an Infantryman with the 2nd Battalion PPCLI. In 2001 he transferred to the Engineers as a Construction Technician. Upon completion of QL3 he was posted to 19 Wing Comox. Throughout his career, he has trained and been employed at a variety of postings such as CFB Comox, CFB Winnipeg Mb., CFB Gagetown N.B. As well, Cpl Young has served on a number of six-month deployments overseas: Former Yugoslavia and Bosnia.

Cpl Young will be retiring in the Comox Valley and will be taking a position as a WFE tech apprentice with 19 Wing CE.
