After 20 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Military Engineers, Cpl Rejean Albert, CD, will retire on 17 July 2021. At Rejean’s request, friends and colleagues are welcome to attend his Depart with Dignity function which will take place at 1300 hrs on 17 July 2021 at Dooley’s in Oromocto. Cpl Albert was born in Caraquet, NB, on 15 July 1981. He enrolled in the CAF as a Combat Engineer on 18 July 2001 in Bathurst, NB. After completing the Basic Military Qualification in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC, he completed DP1 in Gagetown, NB. Cpl Albert was then posted to 5 RGC in Valcartier, QC in 2005. While at 5 RGC, he was employed as field troop section member and attended the Heavy Equipment Operators Course in 2007. He then moved to Heavy Equipment Troop, where he completed the Grader Operator and Excavator Operator courses. Cpl Albert deployed to Afghanistan in 2009 while at 5 RGC. He deployed to Haiti in 2010, to Kuwait in 2011, and participated in the flood relief in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC. In 2012, Cpl Albert was posted to the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineers where he worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator at Lauvina Woods. Finally, in 2017, he was posted to 4 ESR to finish his career as a heavy equipment operator.
