We regret to advise of the death of Firefighter Corporal Joseph Jacques André “Andy” Cadotte, CD (Ret’d) on 4 February 2022 of Moose Jaw, SK at age 90 after a short battle with cancer.

Andy was born in Grand Mere QC, the 9th child of a family of 13 children. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force where he trained as a Firefighter and  then followed a career with the Canadian Military Engineers. His first posting was to England where he met and married a British lady. They travelled overseas and back to Canada a number of times before being posted to Moose Jaw SK and settling there. Andy retired from the Canadian Forces in 1977.

After retiring, Andy and Judy enjoyed some travel to the United States and back overseas. Andy was fully bilingual and could recall trivial dates and times like an encyclopedia. Andy was a quiet man who loved keeping up with current events and world news. To keep active in retirement, he worked at the Moose Jaw Art Museum and at Sears. When Judy passed away in 2016, Andy joined the retirement community of Points West and was well taken care of there.

A private memorial service will take place at a future date. Andy was an advocate for children struggling all over the world so donations to World Vision Canada, [1 World Drive, Mississauga, ON L5T 2Y4] in Andy’s name would be gratefully appreciated. Online condolences can be sent to the funeral home.
