Cpl Jonathan Robins, CD will be retiring on the 6th of September 2018 after 13+ years of loyal and dedicated service to Canada, the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Military Engineers. His DWD will be held at the GAHAN House Riverside, 426 Queen Street, Fredericton, NB, 24th of Aug at 1630.

In 2005, while working security for Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario, Cpl Jonathan Robins decided to join the Canadian Armed Forces as a Combat Engineer. After finishing his Soldier Qualification and Combat Engineer QL3 he was posted to 2 Combat Engineer Regiment in Petawawa, ON.
Cpl Robins received many courses as soon as he arrived to 2 CER. In 2007 he completed his LAV III gunner course and driver wheeled course. In 2008 he completed his LAV III driver course. In May of 2008, Cpl Robins moved over to 25 Support Squadron to start his OJT with Heavy Equipment Troop. Between May of 2008 and April 2009 Cpl Robins completed his HESV course and assisted with many different heavy equipment tasks. In April 2009 Cpl Robins was sent on his HEOC. In 2010 Cpl Robins successfully completed his Grader Operator course.
While Posted to 2CER, Cpl Robins was a section member for 24 Field Squadron and 25 Support Squadron where he took part in multiple training exercises abroad such as a month-long gunfighter exercise at Camp Blanding Florida in 2007, TMST training at Fort Bliss Texas in 2008 and support training for TMST at Fort Irwin California in 2010. From September to December 2012, Cpl Robins was deployed to Kuwait as a part of the Strategic Lines of Communication Detachment.
In July, 2012 Cpl Robins was posted to CFB Suffield G3 Branch, Range Maintenance. There he mastered his heavy equipment skills, even more so with the grader. Cpl Robins worked at range maintenance as a section member to 2 I/C and at times was the heavy equipment I/C. In 2016 Cpl Robins took a posting to 4 ESR where he is now finishing his career. While at 4 ESR Cpl Robins was employed as a section member, SNIC I/C and section 2 I/C.
Cpl Robins will be moving to Innisfil ON after Release where he will start a new chapter with his wife and three kids. Cpl Robins will be driving for Bison Transport starting September with hopes to pursue policing in the future.
At Johnathan’s request, friends and colleagues are welcome to attend his depart with dignity presentation function which will take place at GAHAN House Riverside, 426 Queen Street, Fredericton, NB.
