Cpl Gérald “Jerry” Wall (Ret'd)

We regret to advise of the death of Corporal Gérald “Jerry” Wall, CD (Ret'd) in Montreal QC on 7 August 2021 at age 70.
Jerry enlisted in the Canadian Forces in 1968 at age 17 and was a Heavy Equipment operator who spent much of his career with 5e Régiment du Génie de Combat (5eRGC). He took his Heavy Equipment training at the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering in the mid-70s before being posted to 4 Combat Engineer Regiment in Lahr Germany. Jerry returned to Canada in 1977 for a tour with 5e RGC in the Heavy Equipment Section. During this tour, he deployed to Spence Bay to work on this Northern Airfields project. After 5e RGC. Jerry was posted to CFB Shilo MB (1981-85) after which he returned to 5e RGC. Jerry’s last posting was with the Regular Support Staff of 10e Escadron du Génie de Combat in Quebec City from which he retired from the Canadian Forces in 1993.
In retirement, Jerry moved to Montreal (South Shore) to take over his father-in-law’s ground maintenance company. He was the personal driver and maintenance man for the Right Honorable Pierre Elliott Trudeau from 1994 to 2000.
The Wall family is planning a Celebration of Life brunch in St-Hyacinthe . The event will be held on 24 October 2021 at Restaurant Lussier [ 2005 Saint-Pierre Street West, Saint-Hyacinthe, QC ] in the big living room. Please use parking overlooking Welcome Street (has easy access to private room). Price: $ 21.95 per person (payable on site).
