Cpl Alain Leclerc, CD (Ret'd // ret)

We regret to advise of the death of Corporal Alain Leclerc, CD (Ret’d) from illness in Quebec City, QC on 14 March 2018 at the age of 69 years.
Alain joined the Army as an infantyman in 1966 and was posted to Europe as a member of the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry. Upon his return to Canada in 1969 he remustered to the Military Engineers as a sapper and was posted to the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering for his basic Sapper training. After this training he remained in Chilliwack until 1972 when he was transferred to 5è Escadron du Génie as a member of the Heavy Equipment Troop. In 1976 he returned to Lahr Germany as a member of 4 Field Squadron where he was employed in the Armoured Bridgelayer Troop. In 1981 he returned to 5è Régiment du Génie de Combat in Valcartier and retired from the Canadian Forces the following year. After his retirement Alain worked for a private security firm employed by Parks Canada providing security of the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City.
A funeral service will be held on 19 May at 1:00 PM at the Réjean Hamel funeral home on Valcartier Boulevard in Loretteville QC. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1040, avenue Belvédère, bureau 214, Québec, QC. .
