Kevin Patterson is a retired Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) who spent more than 35 years as a Combat Engineer. His postings included 2 Combat Engineer Regiment (2 CER), the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering and the Canadian Airborne Regiment. Operationally he has served in the Golan Heights, Somalia, Bosnia and in Afghanistan. In 2 CER, he served in all squadrons and held various positions in all ranks from Sapper to Regimental Sergeant Major.
Outside of the Engineers, he has served as the Task Force Afghanistan Sergeant Major, the 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group Sergeant Major and as the Force Development CWO in the Vice Chief of Defence staff’s group. His last posting before retirement he was lucky enough to serve as the Engineering Branch CWO for the Canadian Military Engineers. Kevin retired in July 2015 and since then has done several things, the most exciting was working on the Tibbett to Contwoyto Ice road.
