Col Sylvain Lescoutre, OMM, CD

Born in Montréal, Colonel Lescoutre enrolled in the Canadian Forces on 26 August 1974.
Over the years, Colonel Lescoutre has occupied various engineering, staff and command positions at CFB Halifax, CFS Beaverlodge, CFB Summerside, CFB Trenton, and 1 Construction Engineering Unit. He also held the position of A4 Airfield Engineer Operations at 1 Canadian Air Division, and the Director Construction and Property Services Delivery at NDHQ Ottawa.
While in CFB Summerside, Col Lescoutre was appointed as the Aide de Camp to the Lt Governor of the Province of Prince Edward Island. Both Col and Nancy Lescoutre enjoyed this enriching experience.
Col Lescoutre served an operational Tour as the Force Engineer for the UN Mission in Haiti from Jul 05 to Jun 06. He has recently completed a four-year tour with NATO as the Chief-Security Investment Programme with Allied Command Transformation.
Col Lescoutre is currently the Canadian Defence Attaché at Ankara, Turkey. He is also accredited to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkmenistan.
Col Lescoutre holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Université de Montréal and a Master’s Degree from the Royal Military College of Kingston. He is also a graduate of the Command and Staff College Course, Advance Military Staff Course, and National Securities Studies Course. Col Lescoutre was appointed to the Order of Military Merit, at the rank of Officer, in October 2001.
Colonel Lescoutre jogs regularly and enjoys playing hockey. He is also a certified soccer referee and still manages to keep-up with the youngsters in the middle of the pitch.
Col Lescoutre is married to Nancy (Eagles) formerly of Halifax, NS, and they have two sons, Marc and David.
