Col Darwin Gould, CD will retire from the Canadian Armed Forces on 29 Jan 2016 after more than 33 years of loyal and dedicated service to the CAF and the CME Branch. (please see bio attached).
A retirement ceremony will be held in his honour on Wed 20 Jan 2016 from 1200-1500 hrs at the NDHQ Ottawa WOs' & Sgts' Mess ($20/person including the retirement gift).

before 9 Jan. Col Gould joined the CF as a Direct Entry Officer in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. After his initial posting at CFB Montreal in 1986, where he held the positions of Planning, Production, Contracts and Engineering Officer, he was selected to attend Post-Graduate Training at the University of New Brunswick earning a Masters of Science in Civil Engineering (Transportation) in 1988.
Posted to CFB Lahr from 1988 to 1991, Col Gould held the positions of Planning and Requirements Officer and was deployed to Doha, Qatar during the Persian Gulf War, as the commander of Engineer forces for the Canadian Air Task Group Middle East.
In 1991 he served his last posting in the rank of Captain as SO DGMEO for one year, then promoted to Major in 1992 and selected as the first Commander of 4 Airfield Engineering Squadron at 4 Wing Cold Lake. During his tenure he was deployed to Miami, FL in support to disaster relief post-hurricane Andrew, to Daruvar, Croatia in support of OP CAVALIER/UNPROFOR, and for a short period in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
From 1994 to 1997 Col Gould served as Base Construction Engineering Officer at 3 Wing Bagotville then on the Air Staff at NDHQ from 1997 to 2000 where he was deployed to Vienna, Austria as part of the log planning team in support of the OSCE Kosovo Verification Mission.
Col Gould was selected to attend the Command and Staff Course in 2000 and was promoted to LCol in 2001. He was posted to J3 Engr Ops in Doctrine and Training from 2001 to 2004 and then he was selected as the Wing Logistics and Engineering Officer in 8 Wing Trenton from 2004 to 2006. He returned to NDHQ for one year in 2006 at the newly created Strategic Joint Staff then he was deployed as a Colonel (WSE) from 2007 to 2009 to Jerusalem, Israel as the Deputy Chief of Staff at headquarters for the UN Truce Supervisory Organization. Col Gould was then posted back to NDHQ at ADM(IE) as the Strategic Planner in the Directorate of Real Property Planning. During this period he was deployed to Kosovo on the NATO Advisory Team as the Log and Infra Advisor to the Kosovo Security Force.
Col Gould was promoted to Colonel in April 2011 and was posted to CANOSCOM/CJOC as the CANOSCOM Force Development Officer responsible for the project directorship of a $1.3B support equipment project. He is currently posted to ADM(RS) as the Director Evaluation Support.
