We regret to advise of the death of Chief Warrant Officer Percy Freeman Sturgeon, CD (Ret’d), peacefully at home in Ottawa, ON on Tuesday, 17 April 2018 at the age of 83 following a courageous battle with cancer.

Stu served a full career of 37 years with the Construction Engineering component of the Canadian Military Engineers and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer. After retirement he travelled extensively with his wife Jeanne on their motorbike or motorhome, curling, playing ball, coaching and refereeing hockey. He loved the outdoors, fishing and camping. He was a handyman 'extraordinaire' and could fix anything. We would all call him for advice on home issues. He was always reciting specialty poetry, song lyrics or 'old sayings' to his kids and later to the delight of his grandkids.

Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa (at O’Connor) on Friday, 20 April 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm . Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, 21 April at 11:00 am. Interment will be held at a later date at The National Military Cemetery at Beechwood. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society. Online Condolences can be sent to the Funeral Home.
