We regret to advise of the death of Firefighter Captain William B. Benn, CD (Ret’d) of Duncan BC on 4 Feb 2025 at age 83.

Bill was born in Viceroy SK.  He joined the Royal Canadian Airforce as a Firefighter and had a full career, leading to his being commissioned as an officer. Bill's career postings included Canadian Forces Base Moose Jaw SK, CFB Downsview ON, CFB Edmonton AB, the Canadian Forces Fire Academy at CFB Borden, CFB Chilliwack BC, Germany, as Fire Chief at CFB North Bay ON, at National Defence Headquarters, and at CFB Comox BC. Bill retired from the Canadian Forces in 1996.
