Capt Tony Yee, CD (Ret'd)

We regret to advise of the death of Captain Tony Yee, CD (Ret'd) in Edmonton on 21 October 2012 at the age of 84.
Tony was born in Toishan, China and immigrated to Canada with his parents in 1949. In 1958, after having competed high school, he joined the Canadian Forces and was first posted to Canadian Forces Base Trenton ON as a Signaler in the Regular Force. He subsequently served at CFB Cold Lake and then CFB Edmonton. After being Commissioned from the Ranks while serving with 745 Communications Squadron, Tony transferred to the Reserve Force and moved to 8 Field Engineer Regiment. He retired from 8 FER as an Engineer Captain in 1991 with over 32 years of distinguished service at military bases across Canada, France and the United States.
Tony was awarded the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers in November 2020 for his 45 years of assistance to the Canadian Red Cross, Disaster Community Services, and the United Way.
The family will be having a private viewing at Connelly-McKinley Funeral home followed by an interment service at Beechmount Cemetery. Condolences can be sent to the funeral home.
