Capt Tony Brake, CD will retire from the Canadian Armed Forces on 04 Apr 2018, after 35+ years of loyal and dedicated service to the CAF and the Canadian Military Engineer Branch. A DwD will be a luncheon held on 04 Apr 2018 at 1100 to celebrate his years of loyal and dedicated service to the CAF at Mingler's Restaurant in the Town of Oromocto, NB. Capt Brake enrolled in the Canadian Forces in 1983 as an Artilleryman, with postings to Shilo Manitoba, Lahr Germany and Gagetown NB. He remustered to Construction Technician in 1991, Capt Brake was posted to CFB Petawawa and after a short stay at CE, he was posted to 2 CER in 1994. In 1999, He was posted to the Airfield Engineering Flight at CFB Greenwood. In 2006 Capt Brake was posted to CE Contracts Gagetown followed by a posting to CETS Sqn CFSME in 2008. MWO Brake received a CFR in June 2013, promoted to Capt and replaced Capt Smythe as CESO at CFSME STDS Sqn. Capt Brake has served overseas in Lahr Germany, 3 tours with the UN peacekeeping mission in the Golan Heights, Bosnia, Somalia, a 3 Month power plant project in Alert, and a 1 month JTF tasking during Honduras Flood relief. Domestic operations Capt Tony Brake was involved with Winnipeg Floods and the Quebec Ice Storm.
After 35+ years of loyal and dedicated service to his country, he has decided to retire from the Canadian Armed Forces on 04 Apr 2018. Tony’s next phase of his life is to reconnect with his large extended family as well as spending quality time with his granddaughters, enjoying what most grandpa’s like to do, fishing and camping enjoying the great outdoors with the ones he loves.
