After more than 21 years of loyal and dedicated service, Captain Jim Reeves has chosen a new career direction. Throughout his colourful career to date, (always service before self) Jim has excelled in a broad and challenge filled array of posts and locations. These have included: 1 CER (in the wild west, aka Chilliwack), 2 CER in Pettawawa, the CFJHQ in Kingston, an undergrad degree at UNB and a post grad degree and teaching assignment at RMC. Overseas he seized opportunities to serve in the Balkans and in Cambodia. For his final assignment with the Army Jim has been the Requirements Officer in Kingston, and in his spare time, for upto four months at a stretch, he has been the Acting BCEO as well.
This summer Jim and his wife Renée and their three children Chad, Skylar and Taylor will pack up and head west. Jim will begin a new career with the Parks Canada Agency, Western and Northern Canada, in Calgary where he will employ both of his Civil Engineering degrees working as the Strategic Asset Management Advisor.
A farewell luncheon will be held at CFB Kingston on 10 July 2007 to mark the end of one journey and the beginning of the next. Farewell wishes and/or anecdotes (of any and every variety) can be sent to Mr Claude Bellerose, bellerose.jlc@forces.gc.ca or faxed to his attention @ (613) 541-4495.
