After 41+ years of loyal and dedicated service, Capt Jean- Bruno Tremblay will retire from the Canadian Armed Forces on 09 Feb 2015. (See bio attached)

Bruno enrolled in Chicoutimi, QC in Aug 1973 as a NCM and proceeded a month later to BFC St-Jean for Basic training. He pursued his career training courses at CFSME Chilliwack BC. He dedicated himself to a very busy military career serving the Canadian Armed Forces as a Construction Engineer for over 41 years. Bruno served in Canada and abroad including postings / tours to CFS Barrington, Mont-Apica (x2), CFB Montreal, St-Jean, St-Hubert, Valcartier, CFB Toronto, CFB Winnipeg, Belgrade, Longue Pointe, NDHQ Ottawa with ADM (IE) and finally in DLI as a Project Director and Army Utility Officer. During his career he completed tours in Serbia and Afghanistan.

Bruno and his wife Johanne will continue to reside in Stittsville ON, for the time being at least. He is taking a job with the Senate of Canada as Project Manager for Enhance Security Initiatives.

In order to honour Bruno's service in the CAF and to wish him well in his retirement, at Bruno's request a simple luncheon with DWD presentation will be held at the Heart and Crown Pub, 67 Clarence St Ottawa in the Byward Market, at 12:00 hrs on Friday, 27 Mar 2015. Captain Jean-Bruno Tremblay enrolled at CFB Saint-Jean in September 1973. After a few years of technical training as Radar and Refrigeration Technician at CFSME Chilliwack, language training in Borden, a short posting to CFS Barrington N.S. then he continued on to CFS MontApica, Québec. There, he spent three full years gaining valuable experiences and career courses, culminating in 1978 with the wedding to his current spouse, Johanne Bouliane. He is the father of two wonderful children, Veronique and Raphael.

From Mont-Apica, Captain Tremblay was posted to CFS Masset BC, until 1981. Promoted to the rank of Sergeant he returned to Mont-Apica where he supervised the refrigeration workshop and supported the station in its various community activities. In 1983, he was posted to CFB Montreal, where he changed his career path and joined Construction Engineering as a contract supervisor. Promoted to the rank of Warrant Officer in 1984, he took over supervision of the Base Engineering Branch’s mechanical workshops until his transfer to CFB Gagetown in July 1987.

After graduating from the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering superintendent course in 1988, Captain Tremblay, having been promoted to the rank of Master Warrant Officer, served as assistant to the Utility Officer until June 1991. He then proceeded to CFB Toronto as Base Utility Officer and was promoted to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. In Toronto, he served at several levels before being posted to CFB Valcartier in summer 1995 to perform the same duties. Transferred to 1 CAD Winnipeg in July 1998, he served as senior manager (LCMM) for all Canadian radar installations and aircraft arresting systems within the RCAF.

In summer 2002, Captain Tremblay was posted to the Canadian Embassy in Belgrade, Serbia as Mission Property Management Officer and Engineering Advisor to the Department of Foreign Affairs. In July 2004, Captain Tremblay joined the 5 Area Support Group Engineer Branch in Montreal as LFC Senior Engineering CWO. Captain Tremblay deployed in Serbia and in Afghanistan where he commissioned to Captain In July 2007. He served at ASU St-Jean and Montreal until his posting to NDHQ Ottawa in Aug 2009. He has been serving in the NDHQ area as Assistant Chief of Staff for ADM IE, project director and as the CA Utility Officer under DLI to the present time.
