    BGen André Corbould enrolled in the Canadian Forces in 1984 and graduated from the Royal Military College with a degree in Civil Engineering.

    BGen Corbould has spent most of his career in the field and has served in the Special Service Force and 1 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group. He has commanded from the Platoon to the Brigade Group level, including commanding 1 Combat Engineer Regiment (2003-2005) and 1 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group (2008-2010). His staff assignments have included positions in the Army Headquarters, Land Force Western Area/Joint Task Force West Headquarters, 1 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group, National Defence Headquarters Operations, and in a Reserve Unit where he served as Operations Officer and Adjudant.

    BGen Corbould has deployed on several domestic operations including the CF assistance to the Winnipeg Floods in 1997, Swiss Air Recovery as a Diver in 1998, and Op PODIUM (CF support to Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games) where he commanded 1 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group (Land Component for Joint Task Force Games). He has also experienced several operational tours including UN tours in Iraq and Kuwait with UNIKOM (1992), Bosnia (1994-1995), another tour to Bosnia with NATO SFOR (1997-1998). He served as Chief of Staff in Task Force Timor during its activation in 1999 and deployed to Afghanistan in 2006 where he served in Combined Force Command – Afghanistan working with 24 Afghan Ministries and developing the coalition and NATO Provincial Reconstruction Team campaign. Most recently, BGen Corbould was appointed Deputy Commanding General 10th Mountain Division (LI) in Fort Drum New York and deployed to Afghanistan with the Division in Oct 2010.

    BGen Corbould is a graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada, the Canadian Land Forces Command and Staff College, and the Australian Command and Staff College. He holds a Masters in Defence Management from the University of Canberra as well as a Masters in Defence Management and Policy from the Royal Military College of Canada.

    BGen Corbould enjoys fly fishing, hiking, and downhill skiing. He is looking forward to retiring in the Edmonton area with his wife Kaet and sons; Ryan and Harrison.
