In preparation for the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day landing, the CBC ran a story about the Project ’44 online commemoration project of the  Canadian Research and Mapping Association (CRMA).

The CRMA is launching a massive initiative to help commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Normandy on the web later this summer.  The research team is currently in Normandy to take part in the celebrations over the next week. (see Mapping the Battle of Normandy).

The CBC article, called "A soldier's path: how a unique interactive map is bringing D-Day back to life", features WOII George Fouchard, CD (Ret’d), a retired RCE mapper and Normandy veteran.  George is one of our few surviving RCE veterans of the Second World War.
