    After 29 years of service to the CAF, WO Mike Denton will retire on 28 Mar 18. A depart with dignity luncheon will be held on Tuesday, 27 Mar 18 at 143 CEF, 391 Harold Whynot Rd, Bridgewater, NS at 1200 for 1230. The OPI is Capt Ray Doiron and any retirement wishes and anecdotes may be sent directly to him at raymond.doiron@forces.gc.ca<mailto:raymond.doiron@forces.gc.ca>

    Mike joined the CAF in Feb 1989 where he completed his training as a Reserve Artilleryman with 3rd Field Regiment in Saint John,NB. He then took a Component Transfer to the Regular force and was posted to 1st Regiment, Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, working as a Surveyor. After 4 years in Shilo, he applied for, and received, a Voluntary Occupational Transfer to Electrical Generating Systems Technician and a posting to CFB Gagetown. While in Gagetown he was posted twice to the school, once as a student and then as an instructor and also served with 4 Engineer Support Regiment. Leaving Gagetown he was posted to Construction Engineering in CFB Greenwood.

    In Greenwood, WO Mike Denton served in a variety of CE positions, including IC of the EGS Shop, Environmental Officer, Safety and Training Officer, Utilities Officer and Project Manager for the Military Police station construction project. In 2016, Mike was posted to his current position as Flight WO of 143 Construction Engineering Flight in Bridgewater NS.

    Mike deployed overseas as a Peacekeeper in the former Yugoslavia with 1RCHA in 2000 and as an EGS tech to Operational support Hub Kuwait in 2012, with a tour as an EGS tech in CFS Alert in between.

    Mike is looking forward to developing his homestead property and enjoying the beautiful south shore of Nova Scotia.
