    MWO Marc-André Dugas, CD will retire from the Canadian Armed Forces on 01 October 2018, after more than 33 years of loyal and dedicated service to the CAF and the Canadian Military Engineer Branch (see bio attached). His Departure will be celebrated during an informal lunch, that will be hold on Friday 19 October 2018 at 1200hrs  at Real Property Operations Detachment Valcartier building 72. External participants of RP Ops Valcartier are asked to inform the OPI of their planned participation NLT 12 October 2018.     Master Warrant Officer Marc-André Dugas was born on December 20, 1964, in the parish of St-François D'Assise, Qc. In March 1985, he joined the CAF as a combat engineer. In June 1985, he finished his recruit training at Canadian Forces Base in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu.

    In 1986, he completed his TQ3 as a combat engineer at the Canadian Military Engineer School at CFB Chilliwack, British Columbia, and was later transferred to the 5th Combat Engineer Regiment in Valcartier, where he completed the TQ4, TQ5A and TQ5B qualification.

    In 1992, he did an Occupation Transfer (OT) to become a Construction Technician and returned to the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering in CFB Chilliwack to complete the TQ3 course, after which he was transferred to the Construction Engineers at CFB Bagotville where he completed the TQ4 and TQ5 qualifications. He also deployed to Golan / Syria in August 1996 and deployed to Alert Station in July 1998.

    In April 1999, he was posted to the 5th Construction Troop (5 CT) of 5 CER in CFB Valcartier as the Construction Engineer Section Commander, he was then later promoted to Master Corporal in July of the same year, and deployed to the Golan / Syria in September 2000.

    In August 2002, he was promoted to sergeant and held the position of Recce Sergeant for 5 CT at 5 CER in CFB Valcartier. He deployed to Afghanistan in September 2002.

    In June 2006, he was posted to CFB Bagotville and promoted to the rank of Warrant Officer as the contracts officer. He deployed to Camp Mirage in the United Arab Emirates in December 2008. During his deployment he was promoted to the rank of Master Warrant Officer in January 2009. Upon his return, he served as Sergeant Major and Property Management Compliance Officer for 3 Wing Bagotville Infrastructure Group. During this change, he is also deploying in Italy Op Mobile 2011.

    In July 2013, he was transferred to the Real Property Operations Detachment Valcartier, where he has since held the position of Sergeant-Major and Real Estate Compliance Officer.

    Master Warrant Officer Dugas has two children (Keaven and Kathy). Marc-André will be a full-time retiree and his free time will be dedicated to his family, his passion for cabinet making and, of course, fishing and 4 wheeling.
