75th Anniversary of D-Day Landings in Normandy

We have received the following Notice from the Department of Veterans Affairs. While we have not yet received advice on the composition of any Official Party for the 75th Anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy at Juno Beach on 6 June 2019, anyone considering attending these activities in France should be aware that they must register online with Veterans Affairs Canada.

Any WW II D-Day Sapper Veteran considering attending the events in France should also notify Ken Holmes at history.heritage@cmea-agmc.ca.

I am writing to provide you with important information regarding registration for the ceremony at Juno Beach on June 6, 2019 to mark the 75th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy.

You must register online with Veterans Affairs Canada if you plan to attend the ceremony on June 6, 2019. To register, go to https://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/remembrance/history/second-world-war/d-da...

Once you have completed the online registration, you will receive an email with instructions to activate your account. When your account has been activated, you will receive an email to confirm that your registration has been completed—this is not your official e-ticket. Your official e-ticket will be sent to you via email closer to the date of the ceremony.

Registration will close on March 31, 2019, or earlier if capacity is reached. Registration on the day of the ceremony will not be possible.
