On Aug 20 2008, MCpl Michel Desgagne will be retiring after 20 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Forces.

Pte Desgagne enrolled in the CF at Sudbury, ONT. On April 5th, 1988; on April 22nd Pte Desgagne left for St-Jean-Sur-Richelieu to complete his basic training. On July 29th of the same year, Pte Desgagne departed St-Jean-Sur-Richelieu for the Air Weapons Control & Countermeasures School in North Bay, ONT. Upon graduation, Pte Desgagne was posted to 21 AC&W SQN, in North Bay, ONT. On July 12th 1990, Pte Desgagne was course loaded on his AD Tech 171 QL4 course, on June 11th 1991; Pte Desgagne was course loaded on his AD Tech 171 QL5A course.

Pte Desgagne was promoted to the rank of Corporal, in Dec of the same year. On June 19th 1995, Cpl Desgagne was posted to Fighter GP/Canadian NORAD Regiment. On July 17th 1996, Cpl Desgagne was posted to CFB Cold Lake.

Cpl Desgagne was promoted to the rank of Master Corporal, in June 2001. In April 2002, MCpl Desgagne accepted an occupational transfer and was posted to CFSME where he completed his EGS QL3, graduating his QL3 on December 4th of the same year, he was posted back to CFB Cold lake. In September 2005 he was back in CFSME course loaded on his EGS QL5A, he was promoted back to the rank of Master Corporal, Jan 2006. After graduation MCpl Desgagne was sent on a 6 month tour in CFS Alert. MCpl Desgagne was posted to CFSME on 16 July 2007, as an instructor. In Sept of that same year he was course loaded on his EGS 6A.

MCpl Desgagne is released from the CF and will be going to school to become certified in as a computer systems specialist.
