Sergeant Randell Hobbs, CD

    There will be a DWD ceremony on 27 Oct 2017 for Sgt Randell Hobbs. Sgt R. Hobbs, CD has 29 years of dedicated service to the CAF (see bio below). The Ceremony will take place at the Air Force Association Building, 904 Central Ave, Greenwood N.S. from 1400hrs to 1600hrs followed by live music in the evening.

    Sgt Randell Hobbs will retire on 2 November 2017 after 29 years of dedicated service to the CAF. Sgt Hobbs joined the CAF on 26 March 1981 in St. John’s NL. After passing basic recruit training he was off to Petawawa to train as an RCR infantryman. After completion of battle school, he spent a year in Gagetown, NB before being posted to Baden, Germany where he stayed until his release in 1990 as a MCpl.

    Sgt Hobbs joined back up again in 1997, this time as a reservist in the Plumbing and Heating trade. After a seven-year stint in 91 Construction Engineering Flight in Gander he joined the Regular Force and was posted to 1 CER in Edmonton in 2004 where he deployed to Afghanistan in 2008. Randy was then posted to 8 ACSS SQN in Trenton ON. and promoted again to MCpl in 2009. Randy stayed in Trenton until 2013 when he was posted to 14 Wing Greenwood.

    Randy, his wife Kim and their daughter Crystal plan on staying in the Annapolis Valley for their retirement.
