Exercise NIHLO SAPPER 2014

As part of Exercise NIHLO SAPPER 2014 (Ex NhS 14), Canadian Armed Forces Engineering Officers and Construction Engineers supported by Combat Divers from 4 Engineer Support Regiment (4 ESR) were exercised to build a Medium Floating Bridge and a Medium Girder Bridge on 9 November 2014.

Ex NhS 14 took place in November 2014 at 5 Canadian Division Support Base Gagetown and its respective training area involving the training and testing of 4 ESR’s Theatre Opening capabilities and Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering (CFSME) engineer officer candidates. Activities comprised a combination of combat and construction engineering skills including route clearance and denial, construction and demolition, bridging, geomatics, search, heavy equipment, water purification, camp construction and many more.
